    Program Description

    Patient Care Technician (Level 2)

    During the second year of the Diversified Health Program, students will be enrolled in the Patient Care Technician Course.  This course is designed for students desiring advanced skill training and academic preparation for education beyond high school or for those students who want to enter the workforce in an entry-level healthcare position.

    Students will receive instruction in advanced medical terminology, nutrition, and advanced nursing skills.  Academic courses include chemistry, algebra, and English.  The program provides theory and laboratory instruction in phlebotomy, EKG, and Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association. Students completing the skill training will be eligible to participate in the National Healthcareer Association Phlebotomy Certification.
