An explanation in a nutshell:

The TechCred program provides funding for a company to train its workers.  Some Ohio training providers are approved to provide TechCred training leading to certifications or credential attainment. If your company seeks to improve one or more of your employees through certified training, TechCred is for you. You can see the large TechCred list by going to https://techcred.ohio.gov/about/credential-list.

Employer steps:

Step 1. Identify skills needed and employees who you want to participate

Step 2.  Partner with a TechCred training provider that offers a certified program that interests you. Talk to the provider to verify which credentials or certifications they offer. Remember, the TechCred program will pay all or a portion of the training, depending on the cost, up to $2000 per Ohio resident employee.

Step 3. Make an application by going to https://techcred.ohio.gov/apply. There are several rounds of applications per year, so if one round closes, wait for another round to open.

Step 4. Enroll employees in the training program

Step 5. Reimbursement to the company only comes if the employee completes the certificate or credential. Simply send a copy of a certificate of completion or credential attainment certificate, and the reimbursement will be sent to the employer directly.

(All applications and reimbursement are the responsibility of the applicant and the Ohio Department of Development. Buckeye Hills will strive to provide approved training. If you have questions, contact Ohio TechCred at TechCred@development.ohio.gov)
