    Program Description

    Medical Office Assistant

This program prepares students to meet the needs of the ever-changing office environment.  Students are provided computer application experiences in hands-on lab/lecture classes using modern equipment and current software with special emphasis on tasks performed in the medical office.

Students are introduced to medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, insurance, billing, and coding.  Students are given instruction in OSHA training, First Aid/CPR, and Nurse Aide.  Along with the opportunity to be certified in these areas, students may also earn additional industry credentials through the Office Proficiency Assessment and Certification program.  Students completing the program are eligible to sit for the national certification provided by the National Center for Competency Testing. Successfully obtaining this certification allows the student to apply for college credit at any Ohio public university.
