Early Childhood Education
Instruction in this program is focused on the education of young children, ages birth through middle childhood, with a concentration on preschool children in a center-based setting. Students will learn about growth and development of these children and will study daycare and school operations.
Students will also receive certification required by the state of Ohio to work in an early childhood setting, as well as Step-Up to Quality training. The students will learn to write themes, lesson plans, and block plans.
Students will be given a unique opportunity to job shadow both years they are enrolled in this program, as well as plan and carry out activities with young children. This program has an articulation agreement with Rio Grande Community College in attaining hours toward the Early Childhood Associates Degree.
