This program gives
students classroom and hands-on experiences concerned with all types of
metal welding and cutting by using arc, MIG, and TIG welders. Also students
develop skills needed to work in the
metal fabrication industry.
Students plan and
lay out work from blueprints by knowing the properties of metals.
Students develop safety practices and an appreciation of good workmanship.
Job opportunities include welder, production welders, structural steel
worker, apprentice iron worker and metal fabrication occupations. Students
qualifying may earn an “Entry-level Welder” certification through the
American Welding Society.
