The program prepares the graduate for employment in a variety of health care settings including
acute care (hospitals), clinics, long-term care, and medical equipment providers. The focus of a
Respiratory Therapist is the respiratory (breathing) and cardiovascular (circulation) systems of
the body.
Some of the duties include providing breathing treatments, respiratory function tests,
intubating airways, and clearing breathing passage ways. The Respiratory Therapist can also deliver in-home care.
The program is provided in conjunction with the University of Rio Grande/Rio Grande Community College
and offers a two years Associate Degree. Call for more details.
