Manufacturing Skills Standards Council Training (MSSC)

120 hours

Build core knowledge and skills needed for high performance manufacturing. This course examines fundamentals and interrelationships in areas of production (manufacturing process and production. This hands-on training program blends classroom instruction and industrial lab experience. After completion, students will be prepared to sit for the MSSC Certification Exams.

Hydraulics/Pneumatics

This course introduces the participant to the basics of hydraulics and pneumatics and their usage in the world around us. Topics include: Principles of hydraulics and pneumatics, Properties of hydraulic fluids, Filtration systems and problems of contaminants in the systems, Identification of hydraulic equipment and how it is used in the system, Pneumatic compressors, Air treatment and filtration in pneumatic systems, Identification of pneumatic equipment and utilization in the system, “Hands-on” practice using table top trainers.

Pump Maintenance

This course explains the different ways energy is transferred and how material is moved from one location to another. Topics include: Conveyor systems types and utilization of bearings and how to maintain them, mechanical power transfer, belt, chain, and gear drives types and utilization of motors.

Refrigerant Recovery

Refrigerant Recovery

Prepare students to take the EPA certification tests, Section 608, for recovery of Freon in stationary units. Universal certification is granted upon successful completion of the following: Environmental impact of CFCs and HCFCs law and regulations, and changing industry outlooks, Type I: Small appliance, Type II: High pressure/very high pressure, Type III: Low pressure. Individual tests may be taken; however, the core section is a prerequisite to any certification.

A First Responder may be a law enforcement officer, firefighter, co-worker or private citizen who arrives first at an accident scene. Successful completion of the program will allow individuals to be admitted to the National Registry, First Responder Examination. Course work includes: Introduction to the EMS System, Airway Management, Patient Assessment, Cardiac Management, Illness and Injury, Children and Childbirth.
