    Program Description

    Classroom and practical learning experiences train students in basic manipulative skills and related technical knowledge, safety, proper work habits and the desirable attitudes necessary to obtain an Ohio Cosmetologist license and for competency entry position in the cosmetology or related career field.

    The course includes training in the following areas:

    • Sanitation and bacteriology
    • Caring for the scalp and hair
    • Wet and thermal styling of the hair
    • Hair-cutting and shaping
    • Caring for wigs and hair pieces
    • Permanent waving, chemical relaxing, tinting, lightening and special color effects
    • Manicuring and pedicures,
    • Skin care and make-up techniques
    • Relaxing body massage
    • Salon operations and communication skills
    • Cosmetology laws and rules

    Credential Potential

    Upon successful completion of the 1500 hour program, an individual may sit for the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology Licensing Examination.

    Nov – Jun Mon – Thur 10am – 6pm, Fri 8am-4pm
    plus two Saturdays (8am – 4pm) a month

    Strict attendance is required

    Tuition & Fees

    $8750 + Additional Expenses
    Additional Expenses Include:

    • Application Fee – $50, Book Fee  – approximately $100, Licensure Fee – $26

    Admission

    Admission process starts in March and continues until class is filled with approved applicants (see admissions page). WorkKeys testing is required and will be scheduled by the school but will not prohibit enrollment. Those without a HSD or GED must have a 10th grade education and acceptable WorkKeys scores, but will not be eligible for financial aid. Click here for more info.
