Cosmetology 1500 hour program
|
Classroom and practical learning experiences train students in basic manipulative skills and related technical knowledge, safety, proper work habits and the desirable attitudes necessary to obtain an Ohio Cosmetologist license and for competency entry position in the cosmetology or related career field. The course includes training in the following areas: sanitation and bacteriology, caring for the scalp and hair, wet and thermal styling of the hair, haircutting and shaping, caring for wigs and hair pieces, permanent waving, chemical relaxing, tinting, lightening and special color effects, manicuring and pedicures, skin care and make-up techniques, relaxing body massage, salon operations and communication skills, plus cosmetology laws and rules.
Upon successful completion of the 1500 hour program an individual may sit for the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology licensing examination. The State Board of Cosmetology address is: 3700 South High Street, Suite 101 Southland Mall, Columbus, OH 43207 (614-644-3834)
