Practical Nursing

Two Programs available:

  1. The full time programs meets five days per week over a one- year period.
  2. The part-time program meets three to four times per week and on some Saturdays during a 21 month period.

The program prepares the student in basic nursing skills necessary to deliver care in a variety of healthcare settings. The graduate is prepared to take the National Licensing Exam for Practical Nurses.

  • Additional fees include liability insurance, uniforms, books, nursing dues, physical, Hepatitis B & TB Testing, Orientation, Entrance test, processing fee and State Board License and Exam Fee.*
  • Clinicals are held off site and includes some evening and weekends.
  • Students are responsible for transportation.

*A criminal background check is required prior to clinical rotation and again at completion of the program.

All Health Programs require Work Key Testing, FBI/BCI Background Check and Alcohol/Drug Screening.

Accreditation: The Gallia-Jackson-Vinton JVSD is approved and operates in cooperation with the Career-Technical and Adult Education Division of the Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Board of Regents. In addition, the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools has granted accreditation.
