Buckeye Hills Student Takes Pastry First
|
Continuing a long tradition of winning at Buckeye Hills Career Center, Culinary Preparation student Xavier T.D. Savage took a regional first place at a recent competition held at Ohio Valley Career Technical Center in West Union, Ohio. Savage, whose home school is Gallia Academy, won his top rating in the Pastry Arts competition at a contest sponsored by the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America organization.
T.D.’s score of 98 out of 100 bested four other schools in the regional competition. He is now qualified to take his baking skills to the state competition, to be held later in the spring. His instructor, Mr. Tim Bartee, is pleased with the result, and is confident that he will be able to compete successfully at the next level.
