Building Trades
students receive actual construction experience on various structures and
buildings.
Major skills to be learned while constructing a modular house each year
include hand and power tool use, building foundations, floor and roof
framing, wall construction, electrical wiring, and the finishing of interior
and exterior of buildings.
The
curriculum also includes the proper use of building
materials, blueprint reading, and using surveying instruments. Career
opportunities include construction laborer, apprenticeship carpenter,
concrete worker, and all construction related occupations.
